About
A simple home poker buy-in tracker
Poker Night Ledger was built by a poker player in Calgary who was tired of tracking buy-ins in a notes app and doing the settle-up maths at the end of the night.
You set one buy-in, add players, and tap for rebuys. It handles early cash-outs, splits food and drinks, and works out who pays who with the fewest payments. Then you share the results on WhatsApp.
It is a free side project. It is a ledger only, so no money moves through it, and your games stay on your own device. Feedback is welcome: tell the person who shared this link what is missing or confusing.
Frequently asked questions
What is Poker Night Ledger?
A free tracker for home poker games. It keeps track of buy-ins and rebuys, splits food and drinks, and works out who pays who at the end. It does not run a game or touch any money.
Is it free?
Yes. There are no ads, no signup and no payments.
Does it hold or move money?
No. It is a ledger only. Players settle up with each other however they like, such as cash or e-transfer.
How do buy-ins and rebuys work?
Set one buy-in amount for everyone. Each player has one original buy-in, and tapping + adds a rebuy. One chip is worth one dollar, so a stack in chips is the same number in dollars.
What if someone leaves early?
Tap Cash out next to their name and enter their stack. They are marked as left early, and the amount they took out is subtracted from what is left to count at the end.
How are food and drinks split?
Add each expense, choose who paid, and choose who shared it. The person who paid is repaid in the final payments. If nobody paid, the expense is flagged and not counted.
How does it decide who pays who?
After you enter everyone's final stack, it works out each person's net result, including food, and finds the smallest number of payments that settles everyone. You can tick each payment off as it is paid.
Where are my games saved?
Only on your own device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. A game survives a refresh or a locked screen, but clearing your browser data deletes it, and another phone will not see it.
Can I use it like an app?
Yes. Open it in your phone's browser and choose Add to Home Screen.
Can I share the results?
Yes. The Settle step has a Share on WhatsApp button and a Copy text button.
Is it legal to use?
The app only keeps a record, like a notebook. Rules for running home games differ by place, so check the rules where you live.
A ledger only. No money moves through this app.
Games are saved only on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
